Sens. Rev. Warnock, Ossoff Secure Funding for Georgia Theaters & Nonprofits

Washington, D.C. –– Georgia U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff secured $900,000 to help theaters and nonprofit organizations across Georgia recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sens. Ossoff and Warnock secured the funding through the American Rescue Plan passed last March.

According to a survey, arts organizations across the state suffered more than $16 million in financial losses due to the economic strain of COVID-19.

The funding will help them continue promoting arts education, dance, film, theater programs, and more.

“These grants are wonderful news for our Georgia organizations fostering the artistic and creative minds of the future. I will continue pushing for legislation to help every aspect of our society recover stronger in this pandemic,” said Sen. Rev. Warnock.

“I will continue to champion Georgia’s arts and culture,” Sen. Ossoff said.
