“Hello everybody, Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock here. I’d like to wish all celebrating in Georgia, the United States, and around the world a happy Lunar New Year! 2024 marks the year of the Dragon, symbolizing good luck, prosperity, and strength.

“Gathering with family and friends has long been part of the Lunar New Year tradition! And here in Georgia we are lucky to have a thriving Asian American community that continues those traditions and adds to our shared culture as a state.

“The Lunar New Year is also a time to take stock and applaud all that the Asian American community has accomplished in Georgia and across the United States, from starting small businesses to engaging in public service, and so much more.

“Georgia is proud to host a diverse AAPI community and I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder alongside you in the fight against hate and discrimination to make sure that everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream.

“I am excited to join you in celebration and ring in a year filled with good luck, prosperity, and strength. Happy Lunar New Year!

Keep the faith and keep looking up.”
