Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) issued the following statement to recognize Col. (ret.) Ralph Puckett’s outstanding courage and service to the nation. President Biden awarded Col. Puckett the Medal of Honor on Friday, May 21, 2021.

“Col. (ret.) Ralph Puckett, of Columbus, Georgia, served valiantly as an Army Ranger and Infantryman in Korea and Vietnam, and as Commander of 8th U.S. Army Ranger Company in Korea, he went above the call of duty, showing profound bravery in the face of danger and risking his life for his unit. The Medal of Honor is a well-deserved recognition of his gallantry in Korea, and a lifetime of service and mentorship to future Army leaders. Georgia, and the nation, is indebted to him for his sacrifice and courage.”
