Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) announced the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) has awarded him the 2025 Democracy Award for the best Constituent Correspondence & Outreach Services. The award follows the Senator and his office’s outreach efforts to communicate safety and support resources following Hurricane Helene’s Georgia landfall in September of 2024.

“I’m extremely proud to accept the CMF 2025 Democracy Award. Last fall, I instructed my staff to use every tool at our disposal to communicate critical safety and support information to everyaffected Georgian. This award recognizes my staff’s heroic service to Georgians across our state. In times of great hardship, Georgians can always count on me and my office to provide resources and support. I would especially like to thank my State Director, Bee Nguyen, for her steadfast and tireless leadership of my staff in Georgia.”

Below are just a few of the Senator’s efforts providing constituent correspondence and outreach services around the time of Hurricane Helene:

  • Alerted Georgians of the deadline to apply for FEMA assistance.
  • Hosted community resource clinics across the state, helping connect 200 Georgians in rural communities to in-person federal resources and representatives.
  • Participated in a community roundtable following Hurricane Helene’s landfall in Georgia.
  • Created a website as a one-stop shop of resources to help Georgians recover.
  • Visited farmers in Ray City with President Biden to survey damage and hear from residents.
