“Today, I was pleased to support five qualified and bipartisan nominees to serve on the important International Trade Commission. All five individuals are competent and qualified and I look forward to supporting their nominations again on the floor. As Ranking Member of the International Trade Subcommittee, having a fully functional commission will help American companies address unfair trade practices that are causing them to lose market share and eventually lay off workers.”

“Today marks the first time the Senate Finance Committee has considered any Democratic nominees this Congress. In fact, nearly every historically bipartisan commission lacks Democrats, including key regulators like the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Federal Communications Commission lack bipartisan commissioners. This harms American norms and leaves regulated industries subject to an intense regulatory swing when the Administration changes parties.”
