Senator Reverend Warnock Statement on Supreme Court Nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson

Senator Reverend Warnock: “Judge Jackson has previously garnered bipartisan support in the Senate, and she has proven she is beyond fit to serve on the Supreme Court. I proudly support her nomination, and hope my colleagues will join me in voting for her confirmation”

Senator Reverend Warnock: “[A]s the pastor of Dr. King’s spiritual home, and the father of a young Black girl, seeing my daughter watch Judge Jackson step into this moment is witnessing the moral arc of history bend before our very eyes. It fills me with great pride for our country, how far we have come, and what we can achieve”

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Reverend Warnock (D-GA) issued the statement below following the conclusion of Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee:

As a voice for Georgia in the United States Senate, I look forward to voting in support of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the United States Supreme Court.

“I’ve examined Judge Jackson’s credentials and record, including meeting with her in person and hearing her testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. After considering her broad legal experience, including as a federal public defender, her deep knowledge of the law and her other impressive qualifications, I believe she is a brilliant jurist who will ensure justice and uphold fairness while protecting the constitutional rights and freedoms of all Georgians and Americans.

“Throughout her career and this nomination process, Judge Jackson has demonstrated her superb intellect and the exceptional skill, poise, temperament, discernment and patriotism that I believe will not only serve the American people and the Court, but will help push our nation even closer to our highest ideals. And as the pastor of Dr. King’s spiritual home, and the father of a young Black girl, seeing my daughter watch Judge Jackson step into this moment is witnessing the moral arc of history bend before our very eyes. It fills me with great pride for our country, how far we have come, and what we can achieve.

“Judge Jackson has previously garnered bipartisan support in the Senate, and she has proven she is beyond fit to serve on the Supreme Court. I proudly support her nomination, and urge my colleagues to join me in voting for her confirmation.”
